
A native Houstonian, Shelly received a B.A. in Architecture from Princeton University in 1992 and a Master of Architecture from Rice University in 1998. At Princeton Shelly received All-Ivy Academic Honors as a student athlete focusing on an interdisciplinary study of architecture and urban design while lettering on the women’s varsity ice hockey team. Shelly continued to pursue her passion for architecture and urban design at Rice
where she was awarded the John Crowder Fellowship and the Darden Medal for the best Master’s thesis.
Shelly serves a key role at Jackson & Ryan having guided projects from start to finish for over a decade. As a LEED® Accredited Professional, Shelly manages the firm’s High Performance Building Standards and has also become a leader in the profession and the community presenting
her work on the Monarch School at the 2008 Houston AIA Greenworks Exhibit, the 2009 Texas Society of Architects Convention, the Going Green Show on Channel 39 and the Monarch Hour on 90.1 KPFT radio. Shelly is a Project Architect licensed in the State of Texas. She is an active member in the AIA Houston Chapter, the USGBC Houston Chapter and the Rice Design Alliance.
