The E. Rudge Allen, Jr., Educational Annex at The Children’s Museum of Houston provides 16,700 square feet of office space for educational and administrative staff and exhibit design and fabrication. Located on a 135’ x 80’ site, a multicolor graphics frieze identifies and connects this efficient support building to the museum one block to the west. The fabrication shops occupying level 1 have clerestory windows to maximize wall space for equipment placement and to promote security. Tall strip windows on levels 2 and 3 provide shared daylight for high-density workstations. Corner windows in conference rooms enhance the corner entry and create an expansive view of the museum.
