Described as John Staub’s finest small house, this 1926 residence’s picturesquely romantic design is reminiscent of the cottage architecture of Brittany. This project required an addition equal in size to the original 3500 square foot house. The design goal was to make the addition appear as if it were part of the original construction. Equally important to the owner was the desire to produce a state-of-the-art residence in terms of mechanical and electrical services, kitchen equipment and convenience, security and lighting without interfering with the romantic quality of the original detailing.
