This Spanish Mediterranean-inspired residence was designed in 1926 by noted architects Atlee B. and Robert M. Ayers. Since becoming a museum in 1950, eight additions have been completed. Jackson & Ryan managed the complete renovation of the original house and additions including replacement of all finishes, electrical and lighting systems, and upgrading the facility’s heating and air conditioning to meet current requirements for particulate and gaseous contamination along with humidity and temperature control. This project also provided a central plant to replace inefficient stand-alone HVAC systems throughout the facility. An elevator to make the building accessible was added consistent with the style and scale of the original residence.
