This 30,000-square foot renovated industrial warehouse is the new home of the Humane Society of South Mississippi. The vast open structural spans and lofty spaces allow the animal holding areas to be interior “villages” complete with the appropriate dog and cat features. Soaring animal tails climb into the space. A giant fire hydrant decorates the puppy room. The exterior entry is flanked by a fiberglass guard cat and dog. The facility contains a state-of-the-art veterinarian clinic for both shelter animals and community pets as well as comfortable, clean and healthy habitats for homeless pets.
