Jackson & Ryan Architects provided master plan design services for this newly established Catholic parish in Katy, Texas. Divided into six phases, this 15-year master plan consists of eight buildings, totaling 143,000 square feet, planned around various internal courtyards on a 20-acre site. The 1,600-seat church will rest on a divergent axis with the other parish buildings. This primary structure is protected by a circular garden and prayer path, which includes the stations of the cross placed under fourteen Japanese magnolia trees that bloom during Lent. The initial phase included two buildings, totaling 38,000 square feet, and provided for the parish’s immediate needs of worship, fellowship, and education.
