A 500-seat expansion to a 1,000-seat church is the centerpiece of the master plan for this vibrant Catholic community in Sugarland, Texas. Preserving the look and feel of the existing church was essential to this complex addition and renovation. All that remains of the original church are the columns, roof deck, and three stained glass windows – all finishes and materials are new. The renovation upgraded the liturgical experience with proper gathering spaces, highlighted devotional areas for sculpture and stations of the cross, improved choir area, and the addition of a full submersion baptismal font. Additionally, new vesting sacristies and work sacristy, art and environment storage, bride’s room/parlor, and storage rooms were provided.
