Strake Jesuit College Preparatory Loyola Hall
Houston, Texas

The master plan study underlined a campus-wide need for additional classrooms, administration areas and community spaces for Strake Jesuit, which has continued to see expanded enrollment. The new 80,000 SF state-of-the-art academic facility is designed for a 21st-century learning with cutting-edge flexible classroom spaces, 20,000-square-foot of community space for students and staff, along with office and collaboration space for faculty and staff. Loyola Hall has allowed Strake Jesuit to increase enrollment while continuing to improve the school and offer an excellent education for all students. The design of Loyola Hall recognizes that teachers have varied approaches to teaching and that students learn in many ways. The adaptability to the teaching and learning styles is reflected throughout the building with flexible spaces and thoughtfully selected furniture to accommodate student needs and choice.

In addition to adding 19 classrooms, staff and student community spaces, Loyola Hall is designed to serve as the new front door to the campus. The continuation of the internal drive loop, expanded parking areas and an enhanced entry off Gessner, serve to focus all visitors to this main entry that is designed to welcome all and present a more fitting face to the larger Houston community.
