Houston, Texas

St Luke's United Methodist Church selected Jackson & Ryan Architects to design and coordinate the complex renovations, additions and new building construction on the Westheimer and the Gethsemane campuses.

The Westheimer campus work began with the complete Sanctuary renovation of the Church’s main worship space. Award winning AV updates, organ updates, acoustic treatments, chancel renovations and pew renovations. New marble stairs were installed, opening up the altar area to the congregation and allowing easier access for choir performances as well as wedding ceremonies. The work continued with the new education building which is now the main entrance to the St. Luke’s Westheimer campus. The Fellowship Walk and Fellowship Area are the focal point of this building and they are adjacent to the new playground and classrooms for the expansion of Children’s Ministry, After School and Adult Ministry programs. The New Student Ministries Building provides a lounge area for the Student Ministry Program including classrooms, performance area and a large worship space with full AV components on the second floor. The new Contemporary Worship Building provides a home for a contemporary worship service with full AV components and Tech Booth.

The Gethsemane campus design included renovations of various spaces including the Sanctuary, classrooms, and offices. The new Fellowship hall serves as a food pantry during the week and includes a commercial kitchen. The expansion includes a community garden that provides produce for the pantry, a new playground and a playing field for Church and a nearby school.
